Based on recent growth, AFHA is now seeking to employ a visionary, hands-on and experienced leader who is well-networked in sport, passionate about community service and developing and inspiring athletes to understand their ability to impact community causes.
It is envisaged that this role would initially be offered on a part-time basis on a one-year contract with a view to extending in line with organisational growth. The successful candidate will be able to work flexible hours and remotely, as well as from our Richmond (Victoria) office.
Working directly with both Co-Founders (who also run successful sport integrity consulting businesses), the successful candidate will be responsible for administering program and operational aspects of the Athletes for Hope Australia program in Australia, including workshop and event logistics, stakeholder management, research and office administration.
In this role, our Chief Impact Officer (CIO) will lead the evolution of AFHA to its next stage of growth by:
Contributing to and driving the AFHA strategy and program development;
Proactively seeking funding and grant opportunities;
Driving “Discover” workshop opportunities and athlete workshop engagement;
Facilitating Athlete Community Leadership Program elements and coordinating participants;
Facilitating communications with athletes to identify personal values and interests and connect them with aligned community organisations;
General liaison with athletes and community organisations;
General liaison with US headquarters of AFHA;
Managing the work of the Fundraising Manager;
Managing and overseeing marketing activities including social media/content strategy;
Driving and managing event opportunities; and
Running day-to-day business operations, including
Supporting AFHA Founders, Board members, AFHA ambassador athletes and executive workforce;
Managing budget; and
Recruiting and managing volunteers and interns to assist with running the day-to-day business operations.
